2018 Election

Nominees have been selected for this year's election; each candidate has prepared a short bio and responses to questions, which are posted below.

Voting is conducted electronically by logging onto NMEA's members-only section and accessing the ballot for candidates and issues.  Voting will cease on November 15 at 12:00 noon CST (Day 2 of the Conference/Clinic).  During open voting time, click on the ballot box below to vote. You will only be able to access the ballot once.

Results will be announced at the awards banquet, Nov. 15.

Nominees for Election

Thank you to our 2018 Nominating Committee, under the direction of Nominating Chair Fred Ritter, for creating this year's slate of candidates. 

Director of Auditions:
   Rick Mitchell, Kearney Public
   Brad Ronne, Scottsbluff High

Director of College/University Affairs:
   Louie Eckhardt, Hastings College
   Derrick Fox, University of Nebraska-Omaha

Director of Middle Level/Junior High Affairs:
   Jody Lindquist, Beadle Middle School (Millard)
   Dave Schaefer, Ralston Middle School

Each candidate was asked to share a short biography and to answer the following three questions:
1. What does Nebraska's music education of the future look like?
2. What specific strengths, skills and ideas do you possess that will make you a better member of the board of directors?
3. What do you feel NMEA leadership needs to do to strengthen music education, the profession, and our organization?

Notice of Annual Meeting

The 2018 Annual Meeting of the Membership will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 7:30-8:45 PM, in Westbrook Music Building Room 119 on UNL's main campus. The meeting is included in your Conference registration.  The agenda currently includes Board Director reports, NMEA financial information, NAfME reports, and other such business as may be brought forth.
